Referral Programme Terms
Last updated: 8 September 2026
These terms govern the The Brands List Referral Programme. In short: refer a business, and when it subscribes to a paid plan you earn 20% of its first payment — paid to you in real money after a short holding period.
01The programme
The The Brands List Referral Programme lets any registered account earn a commission by introducing a business that subsequently subscribes to a paid plan. It is operated by The Brands List (built and supported by Blackcrest).
Participating means you accept these terms in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
02Who can take part
Any registered The Brands List account holder aged 18 or over. You do not need to own a business. Each account has one referral link.
You may not refer yourself, an account you control, or a business you own or are a member of. You may not use paid advertising that misrepresents The Brands List, spam, incentivised click schemes, or any deceptive practice. We may withhold or reverse commissions and remove an account from the programme where we reasonably believe it has abused these rules.
03How a referral is counted
A referral is attributed when a new user creates an account after arriving through your link, or associates your referral code with their account. Attribution lasts 30 days from the date that account was created. If the referred user already has an account, or was already attributed to someone else, no new attribution is made.
A referral converts when a business owned by that user makes its first successful subscription payment while the attribution is still valid.
04What you earn
A one-time commission of 20% of the referred business’s first subscription payment (the amount actually captured, before taxes are added at checkout). Only the first payment of the first converting business per referred user qualifies. Renewals, upgrades and later businesses do not generate further commission.
Commission rates and thresholds may be changed prospectively; a change never affects a commission that has already been earned.
05Holding period & payouts
Each commission is held for 15 days after the qualifying payment before it becomes payable. Once your payable balance reaches ₹1,500 you can request a payout from your referral dashboard.
Payouts are made manually to the UPI ID or bank account on your profile, normally within 10 working days of a request. You must provide a valid PAN before any payout. Tax deducted at source (TDS) is withheld at the rate required under the Income-tax Act, 1961 and deposited with the government; the amount withheld is shown on your payout record and reflected in your Form 26AS. You are responsible for reporting this income and for GST registration if your referral earnings make it applicable to you.
06Refunds, chargebacks & reversals
If a qualifying payment is refunded, disputed or charged back, the related commission is reversed. If the commission has not yet been paid to you, it is simply removed from your balance. If it has already been paid, the equivalent amount is deducted from your next payout (a negative “clawback” entry). We may recover a balance that stays negative by other lawful means.
07Changes & termination
We may modify, suspend or end the programme, or a specific account’s participation, at any time. Commissions that are already payable at the time of a change will still be paid, subject to these terms. Continued participation after a change means you accept it.
